OUR STORY...

East Village came about in 2020 as the collaborative brainchild of Sophie McCreddie and Mark Ede, both inveterate music industry professionals, with a combined 30 years running well respected successful agencies, and passionate music enthusiasts.

Sophie's company, Nova Music Group has built its well regarded name over 15 years in London, programming live and electronic music in venues throughout the capital and at festivals across the UK and Europe as well as representing an impressive roster of acclaimed live artists and DJs. In recent years Nova has set up a publishing and sync division allowing Sophie to dig deeper into a passion for song creation and the marrying of music and moving pictures; with Nova becoming synonymous for representing outstanding emerging writers and artists of varying disciplines. Since moving to Suffolk Sophie has started a small label and set up a creative space and studio for artists to escape the city to write and record within the bucolic surround of the Suffolk countryside.

Mark is perhaps best known as being personal manager to international recording and touring artist Jo Harman, which he continues alongside his consultancy work as a partner in BiGiAM. His partnership with Jo has seen her journey from 'open mic to O2' to become a successful, award winning, BBC play-listed artist, helped by Mark as a pioneer of the ‘brave new world’ of music industry models, where artists are at the helm of their own careers. Following his role as ‘Communications Director’ for a multi-billion, multinational company, and then as both a live music promoter and a music publicist, Mark has since gone on to build BiGiAM, an agency that represents multi award winning and world class singer-songwriters with a keen focus on the time honoured songwriting tradition of Laurel Canyon.
